North American customers often report:
CAT Caterpillar ET Diagnostic Tool (9PIN connector) is connected to the CAT vehicle, and all indicators of the CAT Caterpillar ET host are off. The device cannot work, as shown below:
Even we replaced a new CAT Caterpillar ET Diagnostic Tool, and the result is still the same.
We checked the diagnostic socket of the CAT car and found the problem:
It turns out that some CAT car diagnostic sockets are not standard and cannot match the 9-pin diagnostic connector on our equipment.

Some CAT truck diagnostic sockets do not match the 9PIN diagnostic connectors on our CAT tool.
Even the positive and negative poles of the power supply are opposite, so our 9PIN diagnostic connector cannot be connected to the car diagnostic socket and cannot be powered normally. The device cannot work properly.
How to solve this problem:
The customer needs to use a connecting cable to connect the truck diagnostic socket and the corresponding port of the CAT tool’s 9PIN diagnostic connector, so that the device can work normally and detect the truck.
